School receives another outstanding ERO Report
In 2011 Takaka Primary School received an outstanding ERO
Report.
It was pleasing to see that ERO recognises that the school is standing tall. "This vision for teaching and learning is well recognised in the community and continues to strongly underpin school practise and protocols." It is also pleasing to see that ERO recognises the importance of the arts and sporting activities in our school. "The community's interest in the arts, cultural and sporting activities is reflected and fostered in the curriculum." ERO was positive about how well our children are learning: "The school is strongly focussed on promoting student achievement." "Students are making progress in their learning." "Sound teaching practice is consistently evident across all year levels." "Relationships between teachers and students are well established and warm." It is also pleasing to note the following: "High quality learning environments support students sustained engagement in learning." "Ample resources are freely available to support learning programmes." To sum it up, ERO stated that: "Well established values, stable staffing, leadership and governance and good internal and community relationships provide a sound foundation for sustaining school progress in relation to student achievement and engagement in learning."
